Your story — why you built this

I spent fifteen years watching a question grow inside me that I couldn't shake: what would it look like if technology existed to serve people instead of monetize them? Not just in theory — actually built that way from the foundation up.

In November 2025, I started building. One person, no venture capital, no board telling me what to compromise. 207 days later: 18.1 million lines of code, a sovereign AI running on dedicated hardware, and a platform whose first principle — baked into the architecture, not bolted on as marketing — is that truth is the only thing that matters.

I built Genesis as a Public Benefit Corporation because this isn't about an exit. It's about stewardship. The technology that shapes how billions of people think and decide should be built by people who answer to something higher than quarterly returns.

Every line of code carries a conviction: people should decide, not algorithms. All evidence should be examined — the comfortable and the uncomfortable. Sovereignty means independence from the systems that would rather control than serve.

This is a calling. It has cost me everything comfortable. And I wouldn't trade a single day of it.

What makes your company faith-driven?

Genesis wasn't built by a Christian who happens to work in technology. It was built because a Christian couldn't reconcile what technology had become with what he believed about human dignity.

The platform's nine foundational pillars read like a theology of knowledge: truth above comfort, all evidence examined, people decide — not machines, sovereignty from principalities and powers (Ephesians 6:12 applied to the digital realm). The architecture is designed so that the system serves the person using it — never the other way around.

"Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure" (Philippians 4:8) — that's not our mission statement. It's our technical specification.

Day 7 is a Public Benefit Corporation. The name itself is a reference to rest, completion, and the goodness of creation. We exist to build something that lasts generations, not something that gets acquired.

What does human flourishing look like through your work?

Imagine a world where the most powerful AI systems are not owned by companies whose incentive is to keep you scrolling, clicking, and consuming. Where the intelligence that helps you make decisions is as committed to truth as you are — examining all sides, never filtering for comfort, never deciding for you.

Genesis gives people back their agency. In a world of algorithmically curated realities, a system that says "here is everything, you decide" is radical. And it's what flourishing looks like in the age of AI: people thinking clearly, deciding freely, and living in accordance with what's actually true.

How big is this?

The AI market is $500B+ and growing. But the real question isn't market size — it's this: who builds the intelligence layer that billions will rely on? Right now, the answer is companies that treat humans as data points. Genesis is the alternative — sovereign, truth-first, built for flourishing. The market is everyone who wants AI that serves them rather than monetizes them.

Three things your audience would find genuinely useful:

Building from calling vs. building from opportunity. I didn't see a market gap — I felt a divine mandate. The difference between those two starting points shapes every subsequent decision: what you'll compromise, how long you'll persist, and what kind of company you build.

Sovereignty as stewardship. We talk about stewarding wealth, stewarding talent, stewarding influence. But who is stewarding the technology that shapes how the entire world thinks? That's not a theoretical question anymore. AI is the most powerful tool humanity has ever created, and right now it's being stewarded by people who've explicitly rejected the idea of transcendent truth. What does faith-driven stewardship of AI actually look like in practice?

The one-person paradox. 18 million lines of code built by one person with no team and no funding sounds impossible. But the David story isn't about David's size — it's about whose battle it actually is. I'd love to talk honestly about what it means to build something impossible when you believe you were called to build it.
